They’ve still got about 10 minutes to play, but the Gunners are thumping the Reds hard. Beast has a hat trick four in the net, and Song & Aliadiere have kicked in one a piece. Gerrard seems to have woken up now, but it could be a bit too little too late. Be back soon. I’m riveted to my horrid text updates due to no streaming available here.
Now it’s over. I’d call it a complete reaming weren’t for the fact that Liverpool scored those three goals. That’s enough to win most games, but the Gunners were on fire today. It’s a good thing Benitez didn’t rest his best players, else we’d have seen double-digits from the Arsenal.

I’ve said some negative things about Cristiano Ronaldo in the past. I still believe most of them, but it’s actually nice to see that he’s risen above his Naughty Winker epsiode in the World Cup to actually get on with playing some good football this year. We’ll never know for sure, but I suspect he’s got some handlers strongly advising he behave just as he is this year. Who knows… perhaps he’s not what he seemed. But, it’s still funny to watch stuff like this:

If anyone knows where I can actually buy one of these, I need one.

That felt good. It felt even better having taken place at Anfield.
A brace from my man Tomas Rosicky, who was positively on fire. He’s fast becoming one of my favorite Gunners. He had a rough time last game, but when he’s on… he’s on. And good ol’ Thierry Henry showed us he’s back and looking better than ever. That route of his through the Red’s backline was simply stunning. He just makes it look easy.
The rest of the side seemed to be firing on all cylinders, too. As Arsène said, United, determined and disciplined. When Arsenal plays that way, I don’t think anyone can stand before them. Doing this again to Liverpool on Tuesday would be sweeter than words can describe. But I’d rather see them do it again on March 31, when we head back to Merseyside for the other half of the EPL double.

Home banker? Yeah, I’d say so. But after losing to the Blades I wasn’t convinced this was going to be three points for us until it went 2-0. Great to see TH14 back in action. And Justin Hoyte found the nylon too, which was nice to see. RVP is his same old self, a brace for him.
Now two consecutive matches with the Reds, neither of which mean shite in the Prem. Lovely… eh, it’s still football and its still my Gunners, so I’ll be there cheering them on. I hope Crouch doesn’t fall over and crush Rosicky.

That one was hard to watch. The pitch was a mess, and it showed throughout the match on both sides of the ball. I can’t remember a match where the Gunners gave up control of the ball so often. I guess they’re just so used to the pristine conditions back at Emirates, and even old Highbury (sniff).
Toward the end it got more interesting as Arsenal threw everything they had left to throw at the Blades, but it just wasn’t enough. You can say this is the result of all our current injuries, but I think it would have been a rough match no matter what.
This is probably blasphemy, but I’m sort of glad that if we had to drop 3 points, that it went to Sheff U. I’m not entirely sure why, but I’ve got somewhat of a soft spot for the scrappy Blades crew. Not sure if it’s that ruddy-faced curmudgeon Neil Warnock or just the rough style of their play, but… if by year’s end they needed those 3 points to stay above the drop zone, then I’m glad they got them from us. It’ll be nice to see them again next year.
