So, while my brand spankin’ new 2008-2010, long sleeve, Walcott #32 home jersey is en route to me, at this very moment, from the Arsenal Shop back at N5… Theo goes and changes his number to 14. Well, that’s just great, Theo. You couldn’t call me first?

I’ve sent an enquiry to the good customer service folks at Arsenal. But I think it’s probably too late to fix. I’m not sure I want to, either. The #14 still holds a place in my heart as Thierry’s. Although, if anyone deserves to pick that number up, it’s Theo.

Update: I received a response to my query at The Armory. They tell me that the jersey I receive should have #14 on it when it arrives. I think they were holding off shipments until the official release date, and it would make sense that they were working to sort out any number change on existing squad prior to that.

And, I really like the look of that new away kit, reminiscent of the 89 Anfield squad. I was torn between getting the Walcott or the Sagna jersey for the home kit, so I might have to just get myself a Sagna #3 away jersey.
