Divers: Vela

I’m not sure how else to put this, but… Eboue sucks. Can someone tell me why a person like Carlos Vela rides the bench while Eboue gets so many starts? When I saw Eboue go down at 31′, I actually found myself hoping he wouldn’t get up. Vela came in for him a few mintues later, and made more of an impact on the game in 3 minutes than Eboue had the previous 30. I’m sure Arsene must have a reason, but it had better be a good one. I just don’t understand it. But, it wasn’t going to make much of a difference anyway.

Despite playing some nice attacking footbal for the duration of the match, we just couldn’ put anything together. Zola was happy to crowd the box looking for a point, and he got it. They rarely threatened and focused on not conceding. When you’re only 10 points above the drop, every 0-0 you can eke out is like gold.

I really don’t have much else to say about this match other than that I seriously think that in the absence of some of our best players, some of the younger kids need to get more starts. I think startging Wilshere, Ramsey & Vela would probably yield better results than Eboue, Song, Diaby & Denilson at this point. Don’t you? Meh… at least Villa also drew, so we remain 5 points off 4th place. If someone loses the Chelsea v Liverpool match tomorrow, we’ll be only 5 points off two of the top four. That’s not unattainable.
